Miss Fong was born right here in Alameda and went to Edison Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School, and Alameda High School, where she earned straight “A’s”. Later, she was accepted into U.C. Berkeley, where she majored in geography.

When she went into teaching, she became Mrs. Joni Reynolds’ student teacher. She taught in San Leandro and Berkeley and was a substitute teacher for three years.

One of her hobbies is indoor rock climbing, which she performs at Berkeley Ironworks at least twice a week. She recently got her lead licence which allows her to challenge herself with a more difficult climbing style.

This is Miss Fong’s first year teaching at Bay Farm, and she describes it as “exciting” and “exhilarating”. She remarks that she likes teaching 7th grade because she and her students share common life experiences. She says she is happy to be at Bay Farm and invites students to join her at lunch on Wednesdays.
