Slideshow: National History Day Showcase

By staff writer Evelyn Le
On Feb. 25, Bay Farm Middle School hosted its first National History Day Showcase.
All Bay Farm middle school students participated the National History Day competition. The showcase on Feb. 25 was chance for students to practice presenting and sharing their history projects with other middle school students and their families. This National History Day competition was brought to Bay Farm Middle School by seventh-grade teacher Nancy Ely, who is an Alameda County National History Day judge. The projects required months of hard work for the students, resulting in these final history projects.
The showcase was a success and most of the middle school students attended, and so did many of their supportive parents. “It was kind of exciting, but I also felt nervous too,” sixth-grader Justin Wong said. It was a great opportunity for the students to practice presenting their projects to adults, and it prepared them for the actual judging day on March 3. “It was good practice for the real judging,” sixth-grader, Zelinda Strell said.
